Thirteen-year-old Léo and Rémi are best friends who spend all of their time together, playing near the magical fields of dahlias grown by Léo’s family. As the summer draws to a close, their closeness arouses the curiosity of their classmates and becomes the target of sneering remarks. Embarrassed, Léo starts to pull back from the confused Rémi and their friendship gradually deteriorates. Winner of the Cannes Grand Prix, Close is an impressive and moving coming-of-age story about male friendship by director Lukas Dhont, whose debut feature Girl (2018) was also awarded at Cannes (Camera d’Or).
