Željka leads a quiet life in an isolated village. An unexpected visit will take her back to the past and shake up her daily routine. Actress and screenwriter Lana Barić’s directorial debut arrives at Checkers after successfully touring international festivals. Along with numerous films in which Lana Barić appeared in front of the camera, the ZFF audience also had the opportunity to see her screenwriting work – the multi-award-winning Tereza37, which was last year’s Croatian Oscar entry.

Lana Barić

Born in Split in 1979. She graduated in acting from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. Member of the Drama ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. Author of several scripts for the feature film Tereza37. She has received a number of recognitions and awards for her acting work, including the Croatian Actor Award for outstanding achievement by a young artist, the Breza Award at the Pula FF (the Yellow Moon segment in the omnibus Zagreb Stories), the Golden Arena for Best Supporting Actress (in Hush by Lukas Nola), etc. She is currently developing her debut feature film Eve After the Fall.
