As the summer draws to a close and the sky is busy with preparations for an air show, a man and a woman go down to the water. For the two of them, the arrival of the aerobatic pilot will not be the most interesting event of the day. The latest work of Slovenian director Matjaž Ivanišin premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, while this year’s edition of ZFF will also screen his award-winning Karpotrotter (ZFF 2014 – Best Documentary) in the program Best Documentaries.

Matjaž Ivanišin
Born in Maribor in 1981. He graduated in film and TV directing at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. Karpotrotter premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and then screened at the Tribeca Film Festival. His feature-length documentary Playing Men (2017) was screened at Rotterdam and IndieLisboa and awarded the Georges de Beauregard Award at FIDMarseille.
