It is not easy to present any country and its short filmmaking in one program, but this compilation represents what I find interesting and good, as well as typical, of us Finns. This short look into Finnish filmmaking offers a cross-section of our different styles of fiction, as well as some new approaches to documentary form. The selection portrays some of the typical Finnish characteristics: people used to following the rules, living a life in which the little things matter, and nurturing a relationship with nature. And people who do not necessarily speak French. I hope you enjoy our varied selection.
