The end of 2021 is approaching in the Croatian capital. Karlo (33) lives in his mother’s apartment in the centre, works from home and occasionally hangs out with friends. It’s Not Cold for Mosquitoes premiered in the student competition of the Sarajevo Film Festival. The Checkers audience is already familiar with the film’s co-director Josip Lukić as the author of Boo-boo Boo hoo hoo (ZFF 2015), Summer Fruits (ZFF 2019 – Special Mention) and Nine Months (ZFF 2020).

Josip Lukić, Klara Šovagović

Josip Lukić

Born in 1984 in Split. He is a graduate student of film directing at ADU. Three of his films have screened in the Checkers programme, Boo-boo Boo hoo hoo (ZFF 2015), Summer Fruits (ZFF 2019 – Special Mention) and Nine Months (ZFF 2020). His student films were awarded at Doclisboa, Sarajevo, Dokufest, Beldocs, Makedox, ZFF, Croatian Film Days, etc. He is currently preparing his debut feature film.

Klara Šovagović

Born in 1993 in Zagreb. She graduated in French language and literature and Cultural Anthropology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She is currently studying Film Editing. It’s Not Cold for Mosquitoes is her directorial debut.
