This gentle and romantic drama, dominated by the powerful performance of non-professional actress Eszter Csonka, Hungary’s multiple bodybuilding champion, premiered at Sundance and later screened at Karlovy Vary.

László Csuja

Hungarian director, born in 1984. He graduated from the Academy of Film and Drama in Budapest in 2012. His first feature-length documentary Nine Months War (2018), about the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize. His first feature, Blossom Valley, was screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize. Gentle is his second full-length feature.

Anna Nemes

Born in 1989. She graduated in painting from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. She completed her postgraduate studies in art therapy at the University of Pécs in 2016. Presently, she is pursuing a research doctorate at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Her paintings have been exhibited at individual and group exhibitions throughout Europe. She is currently in post-production with an essay documentary on female bodybuilding, Beauty of the Beast.
