As part of an unusual farewell ritual, two siblings end up at a Chinese restaurant. Both feel guilty after the recent death of their mother and find it difficult to broach the subject. At another table, a father is working on his daughter’s homework. At the next one, a date goes wrong, and somewhere in between, the server loses her patience.

Raphaela Schmid

Austrian screenwriter and director who lives and works in Vienna. She is a student of sreenwriting and directing at the Vienna Film Academy. Her films have been shown at numerous domestic and international festivals. Her short film Fish Like Us (2020) won Best Short Film at the Diagonale festival and the jury prize for best Austrian film and the audience award at the Vienna Shorts festival.
