Hysteresis explores the lag between recording analogue drawings and their projection onto a queer performer’s choreography to create dense feedback loops. This sensuous film triggers a flood of associations: Are these Japanese copperplate engravings, abstract paintings, Dalí quotes? Was that a Baroque fresco or a sequence from Disney’s Fantasia? There is also the performer, whose presence links the digital with the analogue on another level.
