During one particularly sweltering summer, burdened by growing eco-anxiety, Eedi drops out of college. Taking up beekeeping, Eedi received reluctant help from their mother, who, rather than fearing for the future, is tormented by a much more immediate fear of the bees.

Ida-Maria Olva

Scriptwriter, director, musician and beekeeper based in Tampere, Finland. Olva graduated in screenwriting at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences and in film directing at the Aalto University. Summer of Bees (2021) was her graduation film. Olva is interested in auto- and docufiction, minimalist style and comedy.
